jcs3344
How many of you use scent during the early early season. Sept. and Out. If so what kind, doe pee, buck pee ? Just wondering who plays the scent game during the beginning of the year ?
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Scents during early season I don't I wait till its closer to the rut, not sure you would get that much effect this early in the season. The rut is when the scents and rattling tend to get the boys fighting and looking and smelling the air for a girlfriend!!
vagobbln
Re: Scents during early season No scent is the best in early season IMO.
magnatecsteve
Re: Scents during early season Deer are always curious as to what deer are in their area no matter what time of year. You just have to match scents to the time of year. I use regular doe urine in the early season as a cover scent on my boots, and to maybe get a curious buck into range. I have had early season bucks follow my scent trail, so it does work.

hunterfisherman
Re: Scents during early season I use a buck curiousity scent by Trophy Advantage. Stuff is dead on and will get bucks checking it out. Made a fake scrape and by the next week another buck was already working it. Talk to another guy online and he had the same thing happen. If you can get a buck on a scrape by mid sept then it's good stuff.
Pinwheel5
Re: Scents during early season I'm with dartonman, Bowhunters setup is great and I killed my best deer in Sept. with Wildlife Research Trails End 307. He came to it like he was on a rope.
MUDRUNNER
Re: Scents during early season I just use plain doe urine during October. After halloween I switch to Tinks #69 and buck urine.I don't use it everytime I go out though, usually in the morning only till time changes, since my afternoon hunts are generally shorter than my morning hunts. buckee
Re: Scents during early season I like to use regular deer pee that I've saved from previous deer we've gotten. I freeze it over the winter and summer, and have some thawing right now. I also use EARTH scent, as a cover scent all through the season.
