Like said in another post where covered in yotes at my property. i love to hear um but there getting alittle close and big. Some of them look more like dogs then yotes. (we had a major dog problems 3 to 4 years ago) So im gunna take them out. we would kill deer last year go and get the truck come back and they be chewin on my deer. trackin a deer at night was tough. we would have a hard time finding bow kills first. How do you call these puppys and so fourth. I killed a few last year. One with my bow. We killed one that tipped the scales at 100 l.bs. So whats the cheapest way to kill these things i cant spend alot on calls or recorders. (im a strugglin collage kid) thanks guys for the help. We also killed some good bobcats. If someone could tell me how to post pics ill show yall some pics.

Re: callin these critters

There is absolutely no such thing as a 100 pound coyote, they do nto exist. Thats why scales are made, you can hang a big ole coyote that looks and feels to weigh 50 pounds, and find out fast that you shot a respectable 35 pound coyote:)

jc....I don't need you editing my posts son....we are all big boys here, and Im sure we have all heard big boy talk.

Im personally offended by the refferences to "god" and prayers and such, but I don't go and getting mad about it, to each their own:)

I'm sure alot of us talk like big boys out side of this forum. But we don't and won't talk that way on this forum. Continue to do so and I will be happy to show you the door, sir.

Re: callin these critters

Aside from all that talk, I'd go buy a good dvd and watch these guys call in yotes. They always pitch their own calls and in watching the vids you can learn the sounds and which calls to buy. Plus, the videos are great!. The truth serious is pretty good for starters. Thats pretty much how I got started and I've become ok at it. Nothings' a 100% though. Anyways good luck. As far as 100# yotes go, I've heard people talk about them but I don't believe it myself. There was a guy floating around here for a while that posted a pic of a 90 lb. yote that went no more than 40 lbs. by the look of it. Anyways I could care less, all I know is, if you kill a yote your saving a bunch of other critters. Good luck!

Here's a pic of a double I got last year. The one on the left is a BIG yote but maybe weighed 50# or so. So... unless that yote is literally double this size then it wasn't 100 lbs. The only reason I bring this up is to save you trouble. There are a few guys here who know alot about coyotes and coyote hunting. When they've got a newby talking about 100# yotes you automatically lose credibility with them. At first I didn't respond because of this but noticed nobody else was helping you out so I figured I'd chime in. Theres a lot of good hands on this site, don't turn them off with exagerations unless you've got proof. Coyotes hust don't go 100 pounds whether they're crossbred or not.

Re: callin these critters

Yeah, I've never even scaled a yote so 45-50 is my geuss. It was a fatty though. He had two females with him. He was watching over them and I sniped him at 318 yds. 52 grn match hollow point right above his right eye. I though he was further so I aimed at the forhead thinking I'd hit him in the chest but that 22-250 barely starts dropping at 318. It hit right where I held the crosshairs. I ranged him after the shot, didn't have time to mess around before the shot as he was looking in my direction but hadn't picked me up yet.

Re: callin these critters

98 chevy,

Wacoyote mentions buying some dvd's and I have to agree with him for just getting started. Unless you have access to someone in your area that is a seasoned veteran then the dvd route is as good of a way to start as any other I can think of.

Mossy Oak Eye's Front series is good, Byron South's Coming to the Call I - V are good, Texas Predator Pursuit I - III are good too. For bobcats you might look at Gary Roberson with Burnham Brothers and their newest video called CATastorphic.

As for calls, there are numerous calls out there on the market these days. Mini blaster, thumper, tweety and syco tweety are some of the lower end calls as far as price goes, but I promise you they are worth 3 times their cost because they work very well.

Good luck and keep us informed on how you do.
