buffett1
Who has experience with the G5 Montec and the Muzzy 3 blade broadheads? I have heard plenty of good things about both, but would like to know if somebody has shot both or has infor that will help me make a choice. Tony
Re: Who has... i have shot nothing but Muzzys for 7 years now. i have shot the 3 bladed 75s and 100s. the reasons these broadheads stand above others is : you can tune them easily. they are less expensive that the others. only 33 bucks for 6 and are very common. they are proven tough and have interlocking blades. which makes them even tougher. you can buy new blades each year and install them easily. you can shoot the old blades for practice and then simply put in new ones and go hunting. this is a huge factor. because you dont have to dull your new heads, you just replace them. JimPic
Re: Who has... I tried the G5's and they shot point on!But they made a very audible whistling noise off my bow.I sold them to a buddy and they made no noise off his bow.But they did fly great! Never shot muzzy's. wtnhunt
Re: Who has... Never tried the montecs, but do shoot the muzzy 3 blade broadheads in the 10 grain with my setup. No need for me to try any other. Very happy with how the muzzy's perform.
Guest bucknutt
Re: Who has... i shot the montec all last season and the first weekend of this season. i shot a doe sunday and it went through both front shoulders and left a very good size hole, i could get both of my big ol fingers through exit and entry hole. i switched to muzzy just the other day simply because they are cheaper, i'm on a budget and i got tired of trying to resharpen the montec and they are a bit higher in price. also, i hda at least one bent blade on every montec that i had shot something with. other than that i was very happy with them. 123 4/8 P&Y
Re: Who has... I found that the Montec consistently flew better than the Muzzy.
Hillbilly
Re: Who has... I like my muzzy 100 grain 4 blade.. flew well with my CarbonForce Arrows. They hit just a lil off...1/2 inch to the left. I won't switch to anything else. Btw, I watched a video on what a Muzzy can do to the shoulder blade of a whitetail, it tore the muscle up. VtBowhunter
Re: Who has... I shoot the Montecs, and they outperformed muzzy's six ways to sunday.....easier to tune (fly exactly like a field point), better penetration (Muzzy scratched a cinderblock, Montec buried in it), and more durable (muzzy broke on that block, Montec was still in one piece and could have been resharpened and reused).
