Sometimes they do. If you have a high doe to buck ratio that often means quite a few late born fawns. The late born does often do not come into estrus. But a first drop doe can breed before she is one year old.

A high doe to buck ratio, also means more button heads. The more button heads you have the more out of whack the doe to buck ratio is.

Yeah, The second rut usually. Here in Michigan, that usually happens around the first week of December. I was out muzzle loading last season on December 3rd...which was 3 days after a 2 week gun season. I had a yearling doe come in panting hard and right on her tail was a buck panting just as hard. He must have been chasing her all night long. I dropped him at 20 yards and ended up being an 8 point and my largest scoring deer ever.
