However, this morning I heard that OPEC held an emergency meeting in lou of "Sliding Gas Prices." They come to the consensus they need to cut over 1-million barrels (in production) per day. In another words, look for $3 at the pump again really soon. Once they cut production gas will start to jump $.10-.$.15 a day. God forbid we utilize some of the oil we have here..... High gas prices are hurting them more than it seems. It is really pushing the market for alternative fuels. I would bet that the prices hover near/over the 2.00 mark for a while. After OPEC voted in the slowed production it will push through quickly. Look for prices to start climbing as quickly as next week...... Here's one more reason to vote Republican to prevent Nancy Pelosi from becoming speaker of the house.... She has consistently voted against building new refineries, exploration for oil and natural gas, and drilling in ANWR. Anything for America to become self-sufficient or at least moreso so that OPEC couldn't affect gas prices and our economy....SHE HAS OPPOSED IT OPENLY AND CONSISTENTLY. No, the Republicans don't deserve to go back, they have frankly done a terrible job. But giving the Democrats the keys to the Congress will be devistating. Just the word that OPEC will be cutting oil production should cause the futures price on oil to start climbing today on Wall Street. Yet there is half of our elected representatives who stonewall any attempt that the United States takes to become independent of OPEC. You gotta ask yourself why? You have a cartel of oil producing countries that just up and decide that the price to the US markets and worldwide markets isn't high enough and that they are going to decrease output to raise prices up to where THEY think prices should be. Forgot to mention that 100% of these countries are MUSLIM. Yet there are elected representatives who still oppose us telling OPEC to take a hike. Shame on us all, we deserve everything we get for electing these despots and sending them back term after term after term. If our founding fathers were alive today, they would lead another revolution. Yet we jump on the oil companies for making profits.....talk about misguided Americans.
