well the weekend started off cold and rainy but the sun popped out around noon saturday but no deer showed untill right at dark and the grandson spots a deer ...i tell him to take it but i don't see it ... he waits and waits and waits finially feel the stand shaking like an eartquake is coming thru...(buck feever...) he couldn't talk or nothing but just sit there... finilally i see the deer walking away down the ridge ....which it was so dark by then a shot just could not have been made....well we went back this morning and saw the resident squirrels and dogs....come out ate a bite and went back to enjoy the day togather and around 4 he says pawpaw there's a deer i thought he was just funnung me when all at once his muzzel loader went booooooooooooooom!!! i didn't see anything run off or hear anything run so i thought he was just pulling pranks...when the little bit of smoke cleared i saw something moving about 60 yards out from the stand and low and behold there lay a deer ....yep he shot a yearling doe ...i'd guess her to be aroung 50 pounds...after he downed her he looked over at me and said ..pawpaw we don't have to track this one ...i laughed and was so tickled for him cause he tried so hard to make things happen this weekend ...but i told him if he had not got a thing this weekend i enjoyed it cause i spent it with him...the deer was ust extra for us...yes i did take a pic and here it is...cj and his doe...hope you all enjoy as much as i have
