rattling

has anyone been rattling any ???? im going home this weekend in North Carolina, i know there chasing does but was wondering if this is a good time to rattle. There is a big cold front coming in this weekend some i hopeing the bucks will be on the move looking for does. ive never rattled before in my life but i think this is a good spot to rattle, i know there are some big deer on this land, my dad found some pine trees as big as a telephone pole horned.... and tips on rattling and the time to do it ??

when your rattling dont keep banging the antlers together.

When I rattle I hit the tines together to start. Then slam the antlers together, like two bucks locking up. Keep the antlers locked together, but move them to sound like the bucks are locked up and pushing one another around.

Its kinda hard to explain, maybe try watching a video where they do some rattling so you can have a better understanding.

The first initial crash should be very loud wait a second (locked up) then start the fight. Also get a watch with a second hand. Fights around Rut time can last 30-90sec. This will seem like your rattling forever. Most people don't ratlle for a long enough duration. Pay attention for bucks coming in to about 100yds down wind. When it works its AWESOME!!!
