So far we have only used it for our bows, and it has worked flawless. The Chrono runs right around $100, and the indoor light set-up is another $40 or so. AJ Posted November 12, 2006 Report Share Posted November 12, 2006 Re: Chronograph?? I started out with a Chrony 14 years or so ago but it committed suicide when it jumped up in front of a bullet. I replaced it with a Oehler 35P. All of the electronics are safe back on the bench while the screens are all that sit downrange. The Oehler also has 3 screens to give dual readings. This will throw out bogus readings. The screens can be mounted on up to a 4 foot bar giving more accuracy. The other one I like is the Competitive Edge Dynamics (CED) Millenium. [/ QUOTE ] Had a 35P with printer, but I had a devil of a time getting the printer to work below 60 degrees. It was a PITA to set up as well. Over time, it seemed to lose velocity when I used my "control" ammo (an '87 lot of Eley Tenex) to check it. Have gone with the CED about 2000 and haven't looked back. Checked it against another CED to see how close they were and then another about a month later. When end to end, all 3 units were within something like 6-8 fps. Very uncanny. I did go IR on my CED and it did seem to help my readings under less than ideal conditions. More things to set up which doesn't excite me, but the range where I test long-range loads is 65 miles away. I cannot get there and find that I cannot get a reading because of light conditions...so the IR feature works for me. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
