AJ
Re: Here\'s a little something............ It looks like a Howa 1500 action with a breechplug that accepts a primed cartridge casing, like Cecil's T/C breechplug. This gun is similar to the original Savage 10 ML. I can duplicate the velocities with my Savage using smokeless powder, and I can save $900. I'll bet dollars to donuts its got a lot less recoil also. hangunnr
Re: Here\'s a little something............ You can get 2500+ fps with a 300gr bullet???? That's gotta be a thumper... I find some of their claims a bit much to swallow. Their doesn't seem to be enough barrel length to burn 200gr of pellets as stated on the main page or the 250gr of pellets listed on the other page. I am gonna contact them to see if they will make parts available to convert my Rem. to the primer system they're using. hangunnr

[/ QUOTE ] Yep, there are some duplex loads that will push the bullet about as hard and fast as your shoulder will stand. The loads at that level do thump. But they are still less than the BP or pyrodex loads. [ QUOTE ] I am gonna contact them to see if they will make parts available to convert my Rem. to the primer system they're using. [/ QUOTE ] It will take a new breechplug, bolt, and receiver. Their actions are using a standard rifle action with opposing locking logs and an extractor. I thought about asking Cecil about a conversion for the Rem 700 to use the .25 ACP cartridges.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm thinking a modified breech plug and bolt would be the only thing required. Figuring the geometry required for the bolt would be the hardest part. I think an extension on the front of the existing bolt and a longer firing pin / spring would do it for lighting the primer. Two issues of concern that I don't have a solid solution for yet are case head support and extraction of the fired case. Any thoughts? hangunnr
DannoBoone1
Re: Here\'s a little something............ [ QUOTE ] I don't know, I think if I just wanted a muzzleloader that's a little out of the ordinary - I'd just get one of these: BullPup It's a WHOLE lot cheaper. [/ QUOTE ] Ever seen a ruptured barrel? How would you like your cheek resting on it when it ruptured?
lil hunter
Re: Here\'s a little something............ Now them are some weird guns. I think I'll stick with my rem 700 ml for now... Seems a lot easier.
