RMS Posted November 21, 2006 Report Share Posted November 21, 2006 I stopped by the local shop today and they had the new Drenalin set up as a demo. The bow is amazing! It's a half pound lighter then the Switchback XT and feels unbelievable. The pivoting limbs increase arrow speed dramatically.The problem is that Mathews keeps raising their prices every year. I got last years XT for $749 and the new Drenalin is $905 with tax. Now I need to decide if it's worth it! I love my XT and have had great success with it. The clown at my shop, as of yesterday, hadn't had time to set his up. Wow...those prices are high. I got my XT in July for $655 down here. My dealer is selling them here for $750 plus tax, comes to like $800 on the button with tax. At any rate, I am on my way there tomorrow to shoot one. The owner is a diehard Switchback fan, which I am also, he didn't even bat an eye at the XT. However, I talked to him yesterday and he told me after shooting the Switchie and Drenaline side by side he ordered a new Drenaline because the Switchback isn't even in the same league as the new bow. And that people who shoot Hoyts can beat up everyone else no matter what brand they shoot. I also heard that Martin bows are so good that every other bow company will go out of business. "it sounds like its a 30/06 only its a bow" or something like that I am just having fun all bows will kill deer even hoyts I mean the indians used to do it with spears so with enough headache and practice I am sure you all can get that new hoyt line to shoot an arrow str8.
