[/ QUOTE ] But, you have to admit Steve, and correct me if I am wrong, but there are many in America, and on these forums, who believe that the only speech allowed should be speech that supports our president to no end. Freedom of speech to me is any speech, as long as it is not hate speech. I may not like what one person says, but they have every right to say it. Do I agree with what the Dixie Chicks said in England, I actually did not, even if I don't like George Bush. Do I like their music? Yep, I haven't bought any of their CD's lately because I don't like them that much, and I don't buy many CD's anyways. I guess what I am trying to say is that there are many who don't agree with what they say, but agree that they have as much right to say what they want as the next person, but there are also those who believe that it is traitorous to say anything negative about anything. The only thing I have to say is this, the Declaration of Independence was an act of treason, so was dumping tea in Boston Harbor, and so was speaking out against taxation without representation. There were many in the 1700's who were considered traitors for speaking out against the British government. Imagine where we would be today if those traitors had kept silent. [/ QUOTE ] And Sluggo, we have the right to say that we think some peoples rights to freedom of speech are wasted. Let's get it straight now though because they weren't making a political statement at all, they were just using the microphone in a foreign country to say what they knew would not go over well in this country. They are cowards for saying it over there in the UK. Natalie only said it there because she never thought it would make it back here. I mean come on, they aren't the smart liberals like everyone is thinking. After all, they didn't know that they had made millions for Sony until a news anchor told them they were being screwed over with only about $50,000 for each of them with a number one hit record and 5 or 6 number one songs on their first album. Not only that, but they have ticked off the View cast (which I can't stand either) by saying they wouldn't do their show because they want to model their career after Bruce Sprinstein's and he would never be on the View. They have also made statements that they didn't want rednecks as fans anyway because they support Bush and wanted a more intellectual crowd. They suck as people and are only driven by what will make them the most money no matter who they have as bedmates.
