shockwave
Here is a picture of our beaver trapline after 2 days, when we skin them all i`ll get a better picture...The 2 on each end are atleast 40 pounds each..I reset my trap after i caught my first one, my buddy`s traps were all set off and i diddn`t know where or how he had them set, so we went back down to reset his and noticed my trap was gone that i had just reset 2 hours before. It ended up having a beaver in it, talk about luck...

shockwave
Re: Beaver Trapline [ QUOTE ] Don't you just love skinning them? [/ QUOTE ] Wasn`t too bad, i never skinned one before and it only took me 15 minutes to do one, taking my time not wanting to make any un-wanted cuts or nicks.. fisherguy
Re: Beaver Trapline 15 minutes hahahaha. I guess you haven't fleshed and stretched it yet. Do that and let me know if you still think it isn't too bad lol. Definately fun to trap, but for the price you get, a lot of work goes into skining and fleshing beavers. I`m not worried about making money, it`s more like controling a beaver population that got way out out of control for the area their in, and IF i make a $$ or 2 for gas money i`ll be happy.. Shaun_300
Re: Beaver Trapline Congrats on the beaver! My uncle is a trapper for a living in the winter up here. I go with him to check traps sometimes, and help him stretch fur, kind of fun to do once and a while! Biggest one he got up here had a fur circumference of 74" (after he stretched it), I forget how much it weighed, it was HUGE though. He also traps muskrats, minks, martins, fishers, foxes and gets the odd timberwolf in a snare.
