iron buck
Re: 35 whelen I own two. A Remington 7600 & a custom mauser. It is ny favorite hunting caliber. There is only one thing I dislike about hunting with the 35 whelen.......everything that I hit wit it goes "bang-flop" Straight down. No movement. SO I don't get to practice my tracking skills If you get a good deal on one, jump all over it!

robk
Re: 35 whelen first i have already got my sights on a new sims so i can lengthen the lop of the rifle i am getting and i found one that is a great deal in an H&R elk foundation model and it is one i have wanted for a long time. i am going to make it my hog gun and will hunt some for deer but also for big animals like elk and moose and i know i can send the action back and get this one 45-70 barrel matched up to it as well. it is the 32" model rob k thanks for the help and i am looking forward to taking it on the may hunt for hogs. i also don't mind not tracking an animal and if it knocks deer down i am sure it will knock down a elk or moose i bet. sounds to me i have my magnum gun so too speak with the 35 whelen rob k
