Bucknasty Bow Strings...

I'm going to get a new string and cable for my Switchback and not real sure which way I want to go yet. I have read alot about the strings that Bucknasty on AT makes.

So I guess I'm basically looking for some input on them...

Who all has a set of them...

How do you like them...

How are they holding up...

Thanks...

Re: Bucknasty Bow Strings...

I have a set on my bow, have shot it probably 400 times since they got installed, still like new, awesome serving jobs, you will be happy. If you look in his new thread over at AT my bow is in a picture and you can see the work he does, he is great.

He picked the colors and what to use for my bow as its a hunting bow and he opted for material to hold up for hunting.

John is great at making them, you will not be disappointed.

I've had both VT and Bucknasty. You'll love either one. They are both made about as good as you can make a string. I will say I like the job bucknasty does with the servings around the end loops.

for those of you who have gotten strings/cables from Bucknasty, how long has it taken? I know he was behind a bit but I send the payment about 2 weeks ago so I'm just tryng to get an idea of how long people have waited, lol

I waited about 3 weeks and it was in September when I finally got them and to me that is a real busy time with seasons starting soon. I also sent him a PM after 2 weeks just to make sure he got my information and an idea when I would get them. Don't be afraid to PM John, he will get back with you and give you a timeframe. I would say another week would be about right.

They are worth the wait! grin.gif

Re: Bucknasty Bow Strings...

i have a ultratec i just bought and it has a set of brand new strings called Wolfden strings. they look very good and seem to be as good as winners choice.

i have never shot them before, but im going to give them a good work out this summer. they are also about the same price as bucknastys strings.

Wolfden just came out offering custom strings on the net last year. but they have been making custom strings for lots of years forprivate people.

if these shoot as good as they look im sure i will like them. i will keep everyone up to date on them.

Shoot Strong

Tony
