NS whitetail
Today was the first day of a 5 day ( 8 hours a day) training course that I have to take. It is called --- MED ( Marine Emergency Duty training ). It is a mandatory course that all commerical fisherman have to take. It involves 2 days of CPR and first aid training and 3 days of trainng for such things as fires and other marine accidents. On Friday we are going to be able to put on survival suits, jump off the wharf into the ice cold water and practice getting into a liferaft. -- simulating having to abandon ship. I must say, I think it will be interesting and even today I learned some first aid that I did not know. At the end, we have to pass a written and hands on test to be certified
