magnatecsteve
Re: What\'s Your Strategy? I already know the favorite roosting areas in my woods, so I get between the three hottest spots, they're in a triangular area, and use locator calls. I will try to get them to gobble a few times. The group that responds the best and with the most gobblers sounding off, I will move in and set up near their usual fly-down area. If that doesn't work, I will try to locate another bird and close the gap and sit him out.
arrow32
Re: What\'s Your Strategy? Sit and call. The next step for this year after that would be not to miss.
toddyboman
Re: What\'s Your Strategy? [ QUOTE ] Whatver the situation calls for. I could type all day and not list all the ways I've used to seal the deal. Just whatever it takes. I guess you could call my strategy the "Git 'er Done" method. [/ QUOTE ] Have to agree. Each day and or situation is different.

maytom
Re: What\'s Your Strategy? [ QUOTE ] How will you be trying to take down a gobbler this year? Any Particular way you favor? Run & Gun? Sit & Call? Pattern Them? Etc, Mostly Run & Gun, and Sit & Call for me. [/ QUOTE ] All of the above!!
Guest paintbrush
Re: What\'s Your Strategy? Depends on the amount of land I have avaiable to hunt on.On large tracts of land I like to run-n-gun,but on small tracts, sit and call. I do like to run-n-gun by far though. Hunting Merriams out on the plains of SD.I've got thousads of acres to roam on,but when chasing Easterns in Mn. or Wis. most of the tracts I hunt on are 160 acres or less. Gobblegobblebang
Re: What\'s Your Strategy? Run and gun with a lot of praying. In Idaho we do not have birds behind every bush so it takes a lot of running.
