Ive posted about my Drafting Manager being a total nut case, jerk. In his opinion is he the single most important person in a multi-million dollar company. This guy literally thinks his crap doesn't stink. He struts around this office like 1-million bucks. He also does stupid stuff like trying to watch me work through the crack between the walls of my cubical. Endless drama. Not to mention this moron goes so far as to grip at me for taking 5-minutes over my lunch when I get here at 5:00, at least and hour before ANYONE else. A couple of weeks ago he went out for lunch at 11:45 and wasn't back by 2:30. His excuse was he was back at 2:00 and went to a doctors appointment at 2:00. Bull, I left at 2:30 and his car was in the parking lot. He was at lunch with his buddies. He didn't get back until work was out. Anyway, my biggest problem with this idiot is his insatiable need to lie about everything. He will tell you down is up and up is down if it benefits him. We catch him on almost a daily basis and ive about had my fill. He is literally a couple of steps from running off the majority of our department. The bad part, big company. If there aren't any MAJOR waves nothing will change. He has been with this company more then everyone in this department combined so he is rooted in deep. We are being moved to the 3rd floor tomorrow (from the 4th). Most of the area is cubicles. I lucked out and ended up with an office. One of the long timers has a cubicle so instead of him bringing it to my attention and telling me he was going to switch us he starts in on how it was handed down from the owners wife and they are twisting his arm. I knew it was a load of BS from the get go but what really cracked the egg was 30-minutes later he inadvertently mentioned he had switched us! This is a regular thing! He will act like your best friend and then turn on you the first chance he gets. All problems in this department are ours, he had nothing to do with them..... Its literally that bad. This is the same guy that CHEWED me out for leaving at 12:00 the day AFTER my aunt was killed in a Car wreck! We had to be at a Family Viewing by 1:30 and I have an hour drive! Then he had the audacity the following Monday to try and jump my rear when he found out I went to one of the big shots about him that morning! After he realized I wasnt going to put up with his crap he wanted to shake my hand and be friends...... IDIOT. The sad part is I love this job. Great pay, work as many or whatever hours you want. Im up to 4-weeks of sick pay, a couple of weeks of vacation and making more money then I ever have...... And ive been here less then a year! The bad part is this guy is not going anywhere. I can find another job but it will be with another large company where no one hears unless it cost them serious money, etc. Right now Im taking it but much more and Im sending out my Resume...... You Moron! one thing i cant stand is a person like that. it makes me soo mad when someone lies and other people believe it and you know its not true. my roommate is alot like that. he lies to me about stuff that he has no idea about and he knows that i know he is lyin. which doesnt make sense but who knows. somepeople are just like that. You Moron! i could never make it an office setting! that guy chewed me out for no good reason or stabbed me in the back he would be spitting out his teeth! sorry i got a little steamed reading that! lifes to short to hang out with *** bags!! LOL i run a construction crew so for the most part i am my own boss. but the boss and i are like best friends, worked together since 92. we only really see each other on friday nights at the shop!! Well said. Sorry there's no better answer or golden ticket out. But you sound like a guy who will figure this out on his own and make the right choices and decisions for yourself. I'll bet you have some great ideas and thoughts in your head right now. Just evaluate the whole picture and make a plan. Then stick to it and follow it thru. The part that makes this hard is I left the last job for that very reason. Then I had a wonderful manager and a few months later that guy quit and this dork took over.... Ill make it through and still be in good spirits, its just sometimes seeing the guys head explode would brighted my day a little..... I like where I'm at now, I'll never get rich, but I'm having fun. I love coming to work, my wife loves having me come home. LOL Remember though, life isn't about the money. Don't spend 5 days a week some where you hate, so you can have more stuff to play with 2 days a week. The happiest people I know are the ones that don't feel like they go to work at all. Good luck. I was in almost the exact same situation a few years ago. I had a boss that would Lie right to my face! I can take a lot, but when you lie to me, it's all over! The worst part was, one of my co-workers was his "buddy". SO this guy would slack off, come in late, leave early, spend all day on the internet and he even got caught AWOL- cutting grass at home at 2:30 when he should have been at work. ANd to top it off, he was caught on Porn sites at work and just got a slap on the wrist! The worst part was when my boss started questioning my work ethic and integrity!!!!!! When he KNEW i worked harder and was way more contientious about my job than the "slacker"!!!!! That I can;t stand. Then the boss would rub it in our faces and act cocky because he could do it and we couldn;t do a thing about it! Well, after 13 years of taking his BS, he called me in to his office and asked we what was going on.......................well, I'm normally a reserved and quiet person, but the lord helped me to speak up and I guess he didnl;t like what he heard because within 2 days I was transferred to another site. IT WAS AN ANSWER TO PRAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANd something that TOTALLY shocked me. I, like you, thought that I would NEVER be out of that cess pool.................just because the boss was a control freak and knew I wanted out and would never let me go just for that reason. I never thought in a million years I would get out of that....................let alone in 2 days!!!!!!!!!! Now, as mad as I was, I never "lost it", I just gave him my oppinion and I guess he didnl;t want me giving my opinion to others and letting others know what a bad manager he was and a liar. To this day it still amazes me!!!! God brought me out of the situation when I thought there was no hope!!!!!!! Hang in there jeramie!!!!!!!!! GOD IS GOOD!!!!! Might as well start talking to them about some pleasant things rather than just the problems with the idiot in charge of your department.
