[/ QUOTE ] Well maybe but from what I recall about your job and my 30 years in the oil business, there isn't that much he knows now about what you are doing that you don't know after working there a year. He's not a geologist, engineer, landman, attorney, or an accountant. If he were, that would be different.
BowJoe
Re: Why Lie? You Moron! LIke everyone else already said, there are idiots like that wherever you go. Some are closet idiots until they become a boss and then you see the power go to their head. The only thing a boss really has power over is to make it a pleasant work environment or an unpleasant one. Just remain quiet and that means behind his back as well and to other co-workers so you don't look like a griper and just listen. Eventually you'll hear yourself in somebody else's complaints and see how petty they sound. I'm not saying you're petty but you'll see. Eventually he'll be let go for not covering his butt enough times and you could silently slip into that position or one of the co-workers you actually get along with. Good luck and alway, always, always keep looking for a better job until you find one you really love or start your own.

There are also tons of other factors in there too such as heat release, nox, etc. Its big. That is why he has the leg up. There is NO way to learn this stuff in a year. We do a the majority of design work. Engineering just hands us the specs, we do the rest. That is where he has the leg up, unfortunately........ That would take a lot more time and training. That's my weakest area in the business too being an explorationist. Well sort of retired now for a month anyway. Our job was to find it and let the engineers figure out what was the best way to get it out of the ground.
