Shawn
today was an exciting day. i work in the city of peekskill which sits partially on the hudson river in westchester county ny. well today as we we're in a residential area, i got to see a herd of deer consisting of about 25 deer or so. thats not the exciting part. as we we're driving along the river, i saw a large bird flying. i saw a white tail and then a white head. A Bald Headed Eagle was just gliding about effortlessly. it was a truly great sight, and one i wont forget. this is only the second one i have seen in my life, and the other was about 10-12 years ago. Supposedly they're nesting right in that area on the river. Just had to share.

We may see 5 a year here, most of them being Golden Eagles.

coles
Re: exciting day! i guess some of us take things for granted and i would be one of them. everytime i drive home from school there is always 4 or 5 of them sittin on the ground. i dont know why cuz there is nothing dead they are eating on. they have been there for about a month or so. there isnt even any trees within 10 miles of this place. just sittin out in the prarie. then the other day there was probably 10 or 12 or them out in a pasture eatin all the afterbirth from the cows that were calvin.
