wtnhunt
Change is good sometimes, but am kind of wondering what is up with the auto resizing going on here? I dont like it. Loaded some pics, and posted them and they were not excessive in size, and I am on dial up. When I checked back on the post they are resized automatically somehow, and are not the quality of the pics as they are on the hosting site. Does RT have a max photo size allowed now? Randy
Re: Whats up with this? Don't know but, I noticed the same thing. when you first open something the pics are big, then all of a sudden they get smaller.
buckee
Re: Whats up with this? Maximum width for photos is 500 pixels now. I had to change it from 600 to 500 in the signature size post in the lounge too. And yes, picture bigger than that will get automatically resized. It saves on server space in the long run. wtnhunt
Re: Whats up with this? Steve, that really is kind of small. I try to resize my pics small enough WITHOUT CROPPING so they fit the window and do not get over in the side where the black bar used to be, but to take pics down to the 500 pixel width, guess in order to see the critters we are posting pics of simply resizing will not be enough. Looks like there will be a lot of cropping. Again, I dont like this change. Signature size down to 500 seems about right, pics should not be limited down that much, or at least the option could be given to view the full size pic like some other sites. buckee
Re: Whats up with this? Maybe you could drop Scott an email and tell him your concerns about this. It does look like there is room for 600 pixels, instead of 500, but what do I know.
need2hunt
Re: Whats up with this? The pixel limit/resizing is due to not wanting to stretch the page format like we have done in the past. I was a bit confused on why they chose 500 for the max width as the width is about 625-650 before it would effect the layout. I talked briefly with Scott about changing it to 600 as it is still wouldn't effect the layout and I always thought that 600 x 400 was kind of standard for boards. Like Steve said probably would be a good idea to drop Scott an email.
toddyboman
Re: Whats up with this? It does make picture a tad harder to see. But I understand the stretching of the page too. However the new IE has that little zoom button on the bottom right hand corner of your browser. You can click that a couple times to help see pictures a bit better. That may be our only solution... Think you know quite a bit btw.
