tped
REceived the local Dicks add this morning in the paper and there in the gun section they advertise the new Remington 700SPS Varmint as a package with a 4x12x40 scope included for the astouding price of $479 and then there is a $30 Remington rebate. Available in .223 & 22-250. How do you beat that. I never realized Remington packaged any guns other than the 710. Off to Dick's I went to pick on up in 22-250 and they didn't have any. Never received the order from Remington supposedly. Drone behind the counter kindly issued the raincheck but had no idea when they would be in but that is a heck of a deal. I saw one in Cabelas a couple weeks ago for $499. So for $479 and with even a throw-away scope - I gotta get me one.
007hunter
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods. They NEVER have the guns that I want that are in the sale paper. Personally I think they get one gun at that price and once its gone its gone. Its just a way to draw you into the store. And I've gotten them "rainchecks" too only to never hear from them when they promised to call when they get more in...

I guess maybe I should be glad there isnt one around me.
Hoyt03
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods. I got my TC ML from dick's. Everyone here in PA was out of the one I wanted, had to drive to MD to pick it up. Got a real sweet deal on it though, plus I took the wife to the outlets then haha. Usually the one around my place is real good with having this stuff in stock.
Guest jbob3006
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods. when and if you get that gun, let me know what you think about it and how it shoots. I'm really wanting a boltaction 223 and that sounds like a great deal to me...

Stinks when retailers bait you in with deals like that and dont have what they advertise.
tped
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods. I don't have much faith that I will ever get the call. The guy did say and I checked that there is no expiration on the raincheck. Since I get by that store every week or so I figure they have to get one in sometime. Just have to be patient. tped
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods. Amazing! I actually got the call and picked it up tonight. I guess if a deal is too good to be true, you get what you pay for. The 700SPS version has a drab olive green stock compared to the black stocks I have seen it in other places. The rings are standard Weaver 2 piece bases with rings and the scope is branded as Remington but looks awfully cheap. The deal was the deal $469 less the $30 rebate which was still decent. Since this will be a seldom used gun I will keep it as is and put a better scope on it at sometime as long as it shoots like it should. Probably be a couple weeks before I get it to the range though. Will try to post a pic once I assemble it.
