Thought about which bucks survived the season and which will survive the winter? Which summer buck will you see first? Am I hitting home yet, on what is going thru our minds?? I know my hunting conversations with my dad are now talking about the new places we are trying to hunt next year. The thoughts of the bucks in these areas are running through my mind a lot! Right now I really do not know what to think b/c our property is getting 4 gas wells put on it right now!! Our property now will be a little more open. The gas company is planting Alfa - Rack on everything they cleared so that will be nice. Just have to wait and see how the deer react to the clearings. The remaining woods are really thick and will just be more concentrated bedding areas. Thats my hypothesis...lol Can't wait till spring when everything is all done and see how it all looks. I have a couple spots that I have in mind that I want to check out better when there is some snow and will trim some shooting lanes and get them ready for stands. Really interested in seeing some pics from our stealthcam after our season ends to see what made it through, and to try to get an idea of what to expect for next fall. Has been a really slow year for us here this year, had seen probably 10 or so 1.5 year old bucks, hopefully some of them are still around. We are going to try an area we have hunted a little, but shows great promise. Two new trail cams for christmas will make this a lot more fun! I am going to put some more efforts into the expanded season here for sure. The lack of acorns hurt my strategy this year. It wont next year. My shoulder is acting up again. I always have my little wheels turning in my head for the next season hunts. With a new hunting buddy all I can see is great things to come wether I bag a deer or not...
