Sorry Doc (Cholesterol)

My doctor jumped my case yesterday.... grin.gif

Im typically very athletic but have really let things slip over the past 1 1/2 years. I went from about 180lbs to 212 and then back to 190. I really need to be about 175-180.

Ive got a chub roll going right now... grin.gif I also quit running two miles a day and haven't been to the gym in 6-months. crazy.gif

My very fist cholesterol check came back in, bad Cholesterol was 186. Im 30 (31 in July) so he looked like he wanted to slap me in the head.... crazy.gif

My family has a history of heart disease. We have a really high white cell count, our blood is like honey, etc. That could very well be the culprit but to find where I truly stand I have been put on a strict 6-month diet. Pretty much, if it taste good.... Spit it out.

Ive been needing to do this anyway but now its a definite. Looks like Im hitting the track tonight.... crazy.gif

I was total count of 335 and in five weeks of VYTORIN, I am at 180. 200mg of fish oil daily does wonders to move the HDL up and the LDL down. Ask your doc about VYTORIN. I've used others, but this is the one IMO.

Re: Sorry Doc (Cholesterol)

I hear ya. Just diagnosed with high cholesterol 2 months ago. Total count was 237, good count was low and bad count was high. Doc said try diet and exercise for 6 months and see what happens. Been eating ALOT better, drinking lots of water, but not really exercising very much......we'll see. I don't know my family history with heart disease, I was adopted at birth.

Not looking forward to this getting older and metabolism slowing down Jeramie, after 35 things have really slowed down, and the weight does not come off as easy. Have not had a check up recently, probably need one, will likely not want to hear what they will tell me.

Re: Sorry Doc (Cholesterol)

Went from 260 to 183 (total cholesterol) in two months last fall. Cut out eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon, etc. Went back to walking two miles before work each morning. It worked! My wife told me that if I put something in my mouth that tasted good I should spit it out!!!!!!

Re: Sorry Doc (Cholesterol)

Jeramie.....I am right there with you bud. I found out about 3 months ago via a life insurance physical that mine is up! So I have a physical scheduled next week to get all the bells and whistles checked.

I am sure I will be on a diet as well. I have really cut back since Jan 1st but know that I could still do better!

I have got to get back to running and working out as well.....just gotta get over the whole LAZY thing!
