Re: Fletching question

the bisquit has black bristles on the bottom they are heavier and stiffer, you have to split that area, nothing goes through those black bristles...

THe bisquit that I have has ALL black bristles. Its an older model, not like the new ones taht have the brown and black bristles.

When I posted my original response this is the WB Rest I was thinking of for some reason,,, but then remembered the NEW WB has a black support bristle and the rest of it had the softer brown bristles.... wink.gif so I deleted my first response...

With the ALL black bristles it doesn't matter... wink.gif

Actually according to Carolina Archery Installation Instructions the C- Feather or Vane can be installed either in the UP or OUT postion (right or left),, NEVER in the down position so to clear the mounting bar... wink.gif

I've had problems with my wb tearing vanes away. Does anybody oil their bristles so that the vanes get clear easier?

[/ QUOTE ]

If you are fletching your own arrows, be sure to prep the shafts well before gluing,, and after you have fletched them all up add a dabb of glue to the leading edge of the fletching for added strength ... wink.gif

AND.........Use either Bohning Killer or Blazer vanes, or AAE SpeedFlyte vanes! They dont wrinkle and can stand up to the WB rest!!!

I also got a bad batch of glue once, which doesn't really fit into the equation too well, but the above advice is great.
