Swamphunter
In response to the "Grannis got in" thread in the Deer hunting forums...here is my experience with politicians. It seems if you go to their website and send them an email about any issue that is bothering you that "they" are not in favor of...they just choose to ignore you. There are some issues going on here locally that I won't discuss in open forums (much too long), but our governor is very aware of. I went to his website (Elliot Spitzer's), and sent him a very well written, well mannered email concerning my opinions. It says on his website that he will send a response via the US Postal service, and it has now been almost 3 months and he has just chosen to ignore, not only mine, but numerous sportsmen in my area that had all written about this issue. Just easier to bury your head in the sand, than to actually address an issue. Glad I didn't vote for him...

wtnhunt
Re: Politicians are a joke [ QUOTE ] No talkee, No votee [/ QUOTE ] Got to agree with Steve here. No answer, likely means I would not vote for that rep whatever office they are in. A shame that politicians and elected officials are often too busy to take the time to answer stuff like this. Newarcher
Re: Politicians are a joke Well, you gotta look at Elliot Spitzer to understand why he doesn't agree with you. I email mine very frequently regarding issues and most of the time I get form letters back. My two Senators are Isakson and Chambliss. I wrote them over two years ago about my discontentment with the spending and the lack of organization in the party with regards to illegal immigration, supporting the war, etc. Isakson sent back a nicely worded letter agreeing with me and specifically mentioning some issues I brought up so I know it wasn't a form letter. Probably a staffer but nice nonetheless. Chambliss sent back a form letter about how the democrats are the party of personal attacks and that they have no ideas. So I shot back an email stating that attitude is exactly why they would lose last November. So after the slaughter, I saw an article that Chambliss lost his Chairmanship on a key agricultural committee to a democrat....I congratulated him and again reiterated my unhappiness with the party as a whole and his attitude. Shortly after, I got the same original reply back from him about the Democrats being a party of no ideas, etc. Touche my staffer friend, well played. I will vote for Isakson again but will never vote for Chambliss ever again. I imagine that if his attitude is such, he will lose many votes. Good luck, New
RangerClay
Re: Politicians are a joke I got two response letters from my State Senator, Jim Wright after I sent him an e-mail. Plus he voted "no" in committee and on the senate floor, opposing the Grannis nomination. I believe he listened to his constituents.
