Tom2008
Yesterday my friend told me about this new bow shop that was on the frontage road in Newport. I decided that I would go check out the place today and see how it was. Right when I walk through the door I get a friendly greeting. Me and a few of the guys in there start talking and before I know it has been an hour. They told me to stop in anytime and they can hook me up with anything I need so I took there word for it. I went to my friends house that was just down the road for a couple of hours and then decided to stop back in the shop and shoot for the first time this year. I'm really glad I went back too. Some of you may know that I bought a new bow last fall. I got it sighted in, but wasn't able to shoot it much at all. Last time I shot my bow was in the beginning of November. Well today after shooting an hour I noticed something didn't feel right. The guys I met there watched me for a bit and asked if they could see me anchor point. Well I found out that yes my draw length is a little to long and I'm pulling back way to much. My rest is not alligned with my string loop. My peep needs to be lowered and my sight. The draw length needs to be re-measured and we are going to paper tune it. They told me to come in a weekend during the morning hours so we could sit down and get it all set-up perfectly. They said they really wanted to help me out and hated to hear that the proshop that set me up would take advantage of someone like that and not properly set up a bow. It feels great to know that these guys are really willing to help me out with my bow. I think I found a new hang out. They also will be holding some shooting leagues so maybe with after a lot of practice I can get into that too.

QDMAworks4me
Re: Found a new Proshop! We have a really good proshop around here also, the worst part is everytime I go there I have to buy something haha I am in a league and this is the first time that I have shot a bow in a fwe years. If I were you I would join the league now and practice up for the deer season. We all have a lot of fun, maybe to much fun!!!

JDAWG
Re: Found a new Proshop! Unfortunately, some "pro" shops dont give the customer the service they need to be properly set up the first time. Why? To keep you going back of course. They think that you will keep coming back because you got the bow there. It's like the mechanic that only partially fixes the problem with your car. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Rayzorp
Good for you, I go to a small shop nearby, owner is great, but having your bow serviced can be painfully slow..
Tom2008
It was cool because these guys did it while I was there and they let me stand behind the counter with them and watch or they let me shoot some of the recurves for fun. Dogg6
It is great to go to a shop that is willing to work with even if you aren't a regular there. That can be hard to find.
