Guest Colorado Bob
I'm getting a Win 270. I'm pretty sure you have a 270 Tikka. What's your bullet choice for elk? I know you handload, what is your powder of choice? If anyone else has an elk load, sing out. I was leaning towards H4831 & 150 grain Nolser Partitions-------seems to be a proven winner. Thanks----CB
OJR
Re: ?? for OJR I have been using nothing but the Hornady, 130 grain, Interbonds in my 270! I shot a cow in February on a depredation tag. It was about 125 yards and I hit her in a rib going in. The bullet went through both lungs and out the other side! She took about 2 steps, dropped and never moved! I use 58 grains of Reloader 22 with this bullet. Winchester brass and primers! No magnum primers, just the WLR. Very accurate load and this was the 4th animal I have shot with these bullets and all of them have gone through the animal and I have not recovered any of them! All these animals went right down. One deer went about 20 yards!
AJ
Re: ?? for OJR Bob, That is a classic combination for the 270 Win. 4831 and the 270 Win go together like PB & J.
