Both are mounted on rifles that have a good recoil, but neither scope has shown any signs of being over-worked. Although they are made in China, so are a lot of other medium quality optics. You could do better for quality and clarity but you will pay dearly for it. I have no real expensive scopes. BSA, Simmons, Tasco, Bushnell, and Burris has worked well for me. I like to target shoot, but I am not considered a bench shooter. I simply use them to hunt with. I probably will never own a scope worth more than the rifle it is mounted on. Even then, there is nothing saying it will survive a lot of pounding. If its going on a low recoiling gun (varmint rifle), it may work fine. robk Posted December 25, 2004 Report Share Posted December 25, 2004 Re: BSA scopes the only time i have found to use a bsa is on a rimfire gun and they are nice to use then as the scope is not put under a lot of strain of the recoil you get from more powerful rifles. there are some good scopes out there i would suggest if your wanting to stay in the 200 to 250 range and that is either a good burris fullfield or a good bushnell 3200 elite series scope. also right now the simmons atec the best i think that simmons makes has some on sale for unbelieveable prices at www.theopticzone.com/ check them out and if your not worried about having to wait a short time you can find some great buys on this site rob k Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's on a 10 lb .220 Swift so it takes no beating whatsoever. Mechanically, it is, thus far, flawless. Optically............. well............. it ain't an 8X32 Burris. But it didn't cost $500, either. Rule of thumb: Spend as much on optics as you can afford (or more) and you'll be glad you did somewhere down the road.
