Ford Mechanics--need help....

Sunday my truck started missing--worse during any type of acceleration. Today the check engine light came on so I went to Auto-Zone to have a diagnostic test done. The code on the diagnostics showed that my truck had a defective Crankshaft Sensor. So I purchased a new one---so my question is: Is this a tough replacement job or can I do it myself. I always do my own tune-ups, brake changes, and other minor jobs. Also--can anyone please tell me where this thing is located:)

here is a picture of it:

It'll be either at the front or back of the motor, which is either where the harmonic balancer mounts to the engine (front) or right near where the tranny bolts to the motor near the starter. I'm not exactly sure where they are on Ford's but it'd be in one of those two places I'm sure. I know our V8's are on the back and the 4.3L V6's are on the front of the engine.

If they're anything like our GM ones you'll need to perform a Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn procedure which we do through our GM scan tools. If you need to do this procedure you'll have to take it to a Ford dealer to have the sensor replaced and have them do the Crank relearn on it.
