I roosted a big bird last night so it should be an exciting morning. Hopefully the next time I log on here I will have some pics to post. Well here we go! Wish me luck! I got into my spot early and the bird I roosted the night before was about 40 yards dead ahead. I game him a few tree calls and nothing. He gobbled about 4 times on the roost. I saw him fly down and immediately I heard a hen. I mimiced the hen and the longbeard gobbled. The hen got closer and louder...the longbeard gobbled. I cut hard and he hammered away at about 35 yards. I couldnt see him yet. I yelped again and he answered right after. He was closer this time. I went silent thinking maybe he would come to investigate. The next time I heard him he was about 50 yards away and to my left. I think the hens came and got him and took him away. Ohh well I had fun this morning. It was the most response I have gotten from a bird in two seasons. I cant complain. I will be back out there tomorrow if it dosent rain and thursday and sat for sure.
