Jeramie
My wife has NO real hobbies. She will occasionally get on a kick and read a couple of books and then do nothing for herself for a year or so. All she does is work and clean the house. She is a clean freak so the house is always spotless but thats not really a hobby. Ive been trying to get her to pick up any hobby, anything at all. She needs something and I often feel bad about my LONG list of hobbies. About two weeks ago she said, "I think ill take up Golf!" I about fell out of my chair. Keep in mind ive been with her 15-years and she has NEVER done anything even resembling something like this. With that said I bought a dozen whiffle balls and we hit the yard the next night. We continued swatting them with Irons for two days. We even tore up the yard a little, to which she complained but kept right on. I figured that would be a good test, it was. She still wants to try. This past weekend I won an Ebay auction and we now have a full set of ladies clubs headed this way from Florida. She wants a pink bag , she picked out a putter this weekend as well as a towel. She bought me a new stand bag! She is serious and this is so out of character! We are leaving next month for a few days, its our 10-year wedding anniversary on the 26th. She actually suggested we hit a driving range while we were out of town! I looked up Golf courses around Branson and found a par 3 course (18-holes) and she wants to play! WOW, WOW, WOW! She is even talking Golf carts. Keep in mind, this is like Gandhi taking up juggling. Its very out of character! She now has a great couple from Church wanting to Golf with us and she is so excited about it. Occasionally I have to get up and run in circles. So this weekend she was sitting at the laptop surfing Ebay for Golf stuff. I walked through. I stopped long enough to say, "I dont know who you are, and I dont know what you did with my wife, just dont bring her back......" I got the look but it was worth it..... Jeramie
Sounds cool Jeramie. What happened with her interest in shooting with you? Short lived... She never could get over how "Loud the guns were." The sad part is she is a pretty dang good shot!
Guest Andrea
LOL..........well, it's almost as expensive as fishing and just as hot. Congrats. You'll know it's really bad when she asks you to watch the baby while she hits the green.

muggs
I'm really getting back into golf myself. Sarah and I play together about once a month and I hope she gets the bug too. Right now she likes it and wants to play, just not nearly as much as I do. I really, really, really recommend that she sign up for a lesson with a pro. It's not cheap (about $45 for an hour in my area) but it's the best money you can invest in your golf game. There's really no telling how much just one hour can help. They also sell package lesson deals, say three for $100 or so. It will get her off on the right foot and really save a lot of frustration. Just my 2 cents. toddyboman
Sounds awesome. Would love for my wife to get into golfing with me. Muggs has a good point. We all know how tuff and frustrating golfing can be.

A local guy at a golf course, about 6-miles from the house, charges $25 and hour. I have every intention of signing her up. She agreed so we should be good on that point! At the start, I'd recommend spending more on lessons than on stuff Have you all seen the commercial with Trevino, George Lopez and David Feherty about golfing with your wife? Its a classic! I'm more in agreement with Feherty on this

Palssonater
That's cool Jeramie. Nice to have your wife spend time with you while doing things that you enjoy. I'm still trying to get mine into some hunting. I've gotten her as far as clay shooting.

Newarcher
My condolences on the loss of a perfect woman....cooking, cleaning, slaving to your every wish! You know what I anticipate y'all.....Jeramie will be posting to an empty forum around October (we will all be hunting) while his wife is out golfing and Jeramie is playing with his kid! Good for you, I know the next time you need something she will be much less apt to complain now that you got her the clubs. If she does, just say "Yeah, you are right. I had better wait on that new bow/gun because that new set of clubs really set us back". She'd do it to you pal! Hopefully you didn't create a monster. You let 'em get shoes on and get out of the kitchen and there's no telling what can happen! I have had a couple of "when is the mother ship bringher HER back and taking you!" moments with my wife. I also had a couple "does hadees know you escaped moments as well! . New

Not with THIS crowd! Heck, I would give anything if my wife would throw on some shoes and go back to work!!!!! I thought it was very clear that I was engaging in SARCASM in its truest form.
