Newarcher Posted July 2, 2007 Report Share Posted July 2, 2007 My son has been complaining about on and off again stomach pains/intestine pains for some time. We took him in one time thnking it was growing pains or perhaps even attention seeking behavior and the doctor was somewhat unworried.....most common complaint among kids. However, he has been complaining more now that summer is on and even broke down crying last night during his evening prayers asking God to stop the pain. So my wife took him today to the doctor again. They are running some lab tests to see what's going on. Possibilities could be normal stuff to stress all the way up to Chrones disease with colitis falling in there somewhere. Yeah, he seems okay in that regard....sometimes in the two to three times per day. Surprisingly, the doctor was more worried about that than if he wasn't. They took 5 vials of blood from the little guy at the lab to test everything under the sun and they will have to get some stool samples. This is a very hard thing to diagnose....it could be nothing. It could be growing pains. Or it could be something more serious (colitis, etc.). Stomach aches are the most common ailment among kids and can sometimes be triggered by nothing but stress. It's good that you had your son examined and that he's being thoroughly checked out for all possibilities. Better to cover the bases than ignore something.
