Griz Posted July 13, 2007 Report Share Posted July 13, 2007 We have been seeing this baby coon for the last 2 days now by it's self. I figure it's momma either got killed during the flood here or got ran over. It's just hard to say. Anyway it was at our hay barn, wet, scared and confused and hungry. Well I felt like I needed to do something for the little feller and try and help it out. So I brought it home and put it in a big ole cage that we have in our back yard that I built. The cage has a nesting box in it and some pretty good size tree limbs for it to climb around on. The little feller is big enough to eat solid food but I'm not real sure what to feed it. I gave it some dry cat and dog food and a little mixture of horse feed. I figure it should eat that just fine... Any ideas on what else I should do for it as far as food goes. Hope you take some pics.... coons are interesting to say the least...very distructive too ...:eek: We catch younsters like this one all of the time trying to sneak a snack in the trash .. Walmart has that...then you need to bottle feed it...dry cat or dog food is good too, if it has teeth...get it to a vet for a rabies shot too if you are keeping it for awhile!
