Can't figure out my sight

I have a Cobra Sidewinder Radiant 3-pin on my bow. I have the centershot aligned right with the pins and string. But the elevation on the sight is maxed out to the top. I currently have my pins set at 10, 20 and 30 yards. I want to make them 20, 30 and 40.

Here is a pic showing its maxed out...

I tried to bring the sight frame all the way down for the further yardages and with my pins set up the same and my originally 10 yard pin hit about two feet above the target. So I then brought the individual top pin up and it was coming down, but I eventually ran out of room to move the pin in the pin guard. So I brought the pin guard back up and then the pin started hitting low. I'm so confused with this sight... any help is appreciated.

Ok.

When you moved the pin guard all the way down, you should have only moved it about 1/4 inch down. Thats all it should have taken. Put EVERYTHING back to how it originally was at 10, 20, 30 ---- then move the pin guard (don't touch pins) down 1/4 inch and give that a try. It may need slight adjustment (i mean millimeters)... but should be nearly fine then.

Remember that moving the sight or pins UP effectively moves the spot your arrow hits lower, and moving your sight or pins DOWN raises the spot your arrow hits.

Joe I would have centered the Pin Guard and moved the pins themselves up ... ;);) You didn't by any chance move your rest ?? If you did you may need to have everything re-squared .. ;)

One of the more experienced bow tuners may have a better answer for ya than me ... Good Luck and hope you figue it out .. ;)

Yeah this is a great idea too. Just start from scratch. Put the pins in the center of the guard, spaced according to your wants, and then start a shootin' from 10 yds or closer. Move back and adjust the pin guard up or down as needed, a little at a time. :D:cool:

Yeah man, just move the pin guard down a little bit. I would set the 20 yard pin about 1/3 of the way down from the top of the pin guard. Then I would move the pin guard up or down a little bit until the top pin was hitting dead on at 20 yards. Next I would back up to 30 yards and set the middle pin. It should be close to the middle of the pin guard. Last set the 40 yard pin. This way your pins will be centered nicely in your pin guard. Good luck.

Providing your bow is tuned good right now (Paper tuned), and your centre shot, rest and nock point are set, then I would do the following.

If you are not sure if your bow is tuned right. Do the paper tuning first, and then all you have to worry about is the above sight adjustments.
