Here are a couple pictures of my brother with the buck he got the first day of rifle season. He was unsure about killing this buck because we aged (guessed) at prob. 2 1/2 years old. However, after watching him for about 5 mins. my brother seen a 3" spot on his side and didn't know what kind of injury he had...so he took it.

It was a mainframe 10pt. with a split browe tine. Not real wide...but a good buck!

Re: Brother\'s buck (pics)

This buck was taken on private ground...however, its not posted and anyone who respects the landowner and asks permission can hunt there. Its not alot of land and is hunted fairly hard. Although the bucks get smart and few know where to find them when the pressure starts. Me, my brother and a friend are about the only ones who archery hunt this land and we pass up alot of "good" bucks. The ground is actually hunted harder for does than bucks...prob. 15-20 does a year taken from less than 200 acres. I seen two bucks which were MUCH larger than this guy. I also seen two half racks (one side busted clean off) that would have been really good bucks if the other side was still there.

As for the spot...turned out to be just a flesh wound frown.gif . Don't know if he got gourded by another buck or what...but it didn't smell or have any type of infection. We were told of a buck running around with part of an arrow sticking out of it and I think my brother thought this buck was it.

Oh well, my brother was very happy with this buck and I was proud to be there and take pics. wink.gif
