Seems more like he is trying to teach himself to break his own stereotypes, while trying to show the public that gun owners are just everyday people no matter their political affiliation, and recognize that the most effective life saving tool in a crime is in fact, a firearm. Certainly not going to let my kids become victims because I have a skewed vision of gun ownership. I especially liked the reference to guns being evil by the elderly lady at the end. Its kind of hard to believe how an inanimate object can be evil...I could hurl a rock at you and kill you with it, and following that theory, all rocks are now evil. Anyway, we already know this.
