buckee
As some of you know from my post from yesterday http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61459 my buddy Ken's Dad is in the hospital down island in Victoria. He went in the other day for an Aneurysm operation, that seemed to be successful at first. He was up and walking just after the operation and they were about to release him, when he collapsed. The doctors thought at first that either it was a heart problem (which it wasn't) or a problem with the epidural needle possibly nicking his spinal chord (which it wasn't). He was paralyzed and delirious yesterday and today he is still the same and worse. He is not only paralyzed, now, but also has no control and is completely out of it as far as communicating, etc. The doctors say now that it looks like he has a blockage in the artery that feeds his spine (from what I understood from Ken tonight) and if it isn't cleared really soon, he will most certainly be a quadriplegic or worse...die soon. They can't operate, because the blockage is in a very small blood vessel, and not sure where, and they can't give him blood thinners right now, because of his operation. Ken's Dad, Mel needs all of our prayers right now desperately. Thank you.
