Glavine, Smoltz, Griffey, Clemens, A-Rod, Jeter, Maddux, Biggio are all the guys that I can think of that will walk right off the field and right into the Hall.

Guys that I think would probably make it at some point, not first ballot but, at some point would be..........

Bonds, Chipper Jones, Vlad Guerrero, and ManRam.

Agree with John here, but I'd say Bonds will make it first ballot.

John named some good ones, but I'd add Trevor Hoffman to that list to settle your arguement with Ron...not first ballot though. I do think ManRam is a first ballot guy. Jim Thome will get in as well. Pudge is a first ballot guy.

Guy's who have a shot

Omar Vizquel

Kenny Lofton

Carlos Delgado

Albert Pujols

Pedro Martinez

Sammy Sosa

My argument with Ron was over Jeter. He's a diehard Yankee fan, yet he doesn't believe Jeter is a shoe-in for the Hall. I think he is.

Here's who I think are definitely in, even if they never play past this season:

(Already named) Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Jeter, A-Rod, Bonds, Griffey, Clemens, Pedro, Biggio and Chipper.

(Not named) Jeff Kent, Mike Piazza, Randy Johnson, Mariano Rivera, Curt Schilling

(those that need a couple more good years)Martin, Kemp, Billinglsey, Loney, Broxton, Kershaw, and Ethier......:D:D:D Sry couldn't resist.

Definately Rivera, maybe Randy Johnson and Schilling....no way on Kent or Piazza...

I'm not a big fan of Piazza's but I think him holding the record for homeruns as a catcher will be enough to put him on before his chance is up. But now, Jeff Kent should be a first ballot Hall of Famer. He should go down in the books as the best offensive 2nd baseman in the history of baseball. I know you think I'm biased because he's a Dodger, but he's still an Astro to me.

And honestly, Kent is just a no-brainer for me. I'm actually shocked that you guys don't think he is. I mean, I realize you guys aren't the most intelligent out there, but I thought ya'll actually knew a little bit about sports every now and then.:D:D

Thought about Tejada, but I figured he's not a lock right now. If he continues putting up good numbers and maybe wins a WS, then he'll be there.

I think Vlad and Manny are as good as in, but again, they need a few more years of putting up the consistent numbers.

Before its all said and done...barring major injury or early retirement, here's few that should be there:

Jose Reyes, Johan Santana, Ichiro, Hanley Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano, Miguel Cabrera, Russell Martin(you knew I had to throw him in:D),

How about someone like Andruw Jones? The gold gloves, the bat (most of the time). Dare I say one of the best centerfielders since Mays.

If you would've asked me before this season started, Andruw would've been on my list. What's he got, like 9 gold gloves??? But with him having one of the worst years of his career right now, I'm not sure if he'll recover. He's batting .214 right now. One of the worst slumps I've ever seen him in. I kept thinking all year that he would bust out but he hasn't. Some never do.

I agree with most of the players you all have listed.:)

Kent will make it.

Piazza----I don't know. He may be one of the best offensive catchers, but he is by far the WORST defensive catcher....

Thome- No .

As for the Jeter argument heck ya he is in. Not sure about his exact stats in the post season, but they are good!!!

Ones that come to my mind that you guys haven't listed:

A. Pujols, J.Santana, R. Oswalt

:)

I listed Pujols Toddy, and you're crazy if you think Thome doesn't get in. Santana if he can keep it going, and Oswalt has to do a lot more in his career too.

Kent...Kent?? No way man, WAY to many down years, plus he's a DB and no one likes him...and lets not kid ourselves, the DB factor matters a lot.

Piazza's in.

No freaking way on Andruw Jones. I'll agree the guy's an awesome fielder, one of the best I've seen in my lifetime, but he doesn't hit for a high enough average (especially this year like Kev said) to get in.

Show me the "way too" many down years??? He's averaged over 20 dingers a year for his career. He's even broke 30 a couple of times. This from a guy that everyone would agree has probably never taken steroids. And all this from a 2nd baseman?? Definite hall of fame material.

As far as Kent being a DB, the guys a gamer. Has the same mentality that Ty Cobb had just not as fervent.:D

I mean, I think he should be in the hall of fame just for the fact that he stood up to Barry Bonds when noone else would.:D

BTW--I'd like to correct an error in my intial Kent post...:D. Kent will always be a Giant to me. Not sure why I typed Astro.

I guess his career numbers are better than I thought they were. Comparing them to guy's like Joe Morgan, Ryan Sanberg etc....he's actually looking pretty good. He's in. You happy now Dodger lover?:D

But if I had a vote, no way, if for no other reason than he didn't do anything after the Tribe signed him in '96.:D

No way on Andruw Jones, definately no way on Pujols. That guy has played what....5, 6 seasons? He might be on track to one day be in the conversation one daybut not now...no way.

I guess I could see Kent just because of the position he played, but I still don't see Piazza. The guy hit a bunch of jacks, in the steroid era at that, and that's it. No defense, no rings...no Hall.

PS--Kev stop slurping Dodgers and Oklahomians already today. Barry Sanders the best ever, Kent, Martin in the Hall of Fame.......c'mon.:D
