ThethirdI
I ordered a new NAP Quiktune Flipper Rest at the end of July and just received it today. That's the first thing that makes me angry, but the worst part, is that the rest is not how I expected it to be after reading the articles in the magazines I read. The picture in the magazine doesn't match the rest that they finally wound up manufacturing to sell to the public. Apparently the photos in the magazines were of a prototype of somekind. The rest uses two rubber O-rings to activate the drop mechanism and although they give you a little heads up after you open the package that your arrows may squeak, of course this is never mentioned before hand. They suggest running the arrow through your closed hand once and that's all it takes to stop the squeaking. That my friends is B-O-L-O-G-N-A!!! I did everything short of putting WD-40 on it and that still didn't work. The worst part is that now I have to pay for the shipping on the return. That's the last online order I ever make. If I can't touch it I won't buy it! At least when I buy something from folks on here I can expect honesty and not an Oh! by the way it may be a piece of junk when you get it note in the package like I did with NAP. I'm not sure that there are any deer out there that will wait for you to pull your arrow through your closed hand while you're preparing to shoot them. Just wanted to let you folks know what to expect if you don't get a chance to shoot it before you buy it.

rad_112176
Thanks for the heads up. I am with you on not purchasing anything unless i get to put my hands on it first. Kinda weird that they released the prototype photo and built something different.
Squirrelhunter91
Guys... they had problems with the original design of the Flipper Rest. So they pulled all current models off the shelves, came up with a new design and released it within like a week or two.
AdvantageTimberLou
Ivol my friend, try emailing NAP. You can do it via their web site. They are usually fast at getting back with you and are more than willing to help you out. They might be able to send you the newer style and make a trade for you to get you the new design. Sorry you had to experience it like you did but most magazine reviews are not that great. They do not get into the nitty gritty and bash a bad product that they know could be better because they don't want to offend a company that supports them. So the BS you had to go through would have been avoided if they did an honest review but most do not. So to get better answers, post a question on here or over at archerytalk.com. Guys and gals will be honest and maybe you can avoid all this hassle. Good luck and see if NAP will make it right! Take care and good luck buddy! ThethirdI
Guys... they had problems with the original design of the Flipper Rest. So they pulled all current models off the shelves, came up with a new design and released it within like a week or two. The original is the one that I saw in the advertisement in the magazine. I'm not sure what kind of trouble that they may have had but I don't like the new design near as much. I also tried to get on their website because the package says that you can get additional instructions and tips for the rest. Well that's not true either. The Quiktune Flipper doesn't have the instructions and tips on the site yet. NAP has pushed a real button for me. I have been shooting a NAP fork rest for years, but I think that my taste for NAP has been permanently soured.

I have been shooting a NAP fork rest for years, but I think that my taste for NAP has been permanently soured. The original's bristles on it caused a major issue with the function of the rest, so they pulled them, redid them and just now are getting them back out there in August. I was never too sold on the first nor second style this rest myself. Now that I hear about the squeaking part I'm glad I didn't dabble with it on my bow. Here's another post about this rest from a little while ago on here where I posted about the replacement model for Tom2008. http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61454
