VermontHunter Posted January 5, 2005 Report Share Posted January 5, 2005 Re: HDTV Jim, Most new TV's are HDTV ready but require a High Definition Receiver and the programming is also extra...I have a 65" Sony HDTV with Full Digital DishNetwork...These large TV's require alot of tunning and care..if you're not the handiest with electronics I would be sure to by local with the understanding that you want you TV calibrated after the breakin time of 250hrs. by a certified tech and no charge to you.... It sounds scarey but really it isn't but I will say large tv's take getting use to...as far as High Def. goes right now stay digital until they come down on the programming cost...OH and Yeah I paid 2999.99 for my set. Guest MarylandQDMA Posted January 5, 2005 Report Share Posted January 5, 2005 Re: HDTV we have a panasonic (sp?) 30" wide screan it is hdtv ready (I think). it is stamped with hdtv on the front. and when watching shows that are brodcast in hdtv, we get full sround (SP) sound. I got it only cause most dvd's are in wide screan format, we don't have cable or sat. so we rent movies. we payed right around 1000.00 for it. I can't complain the picture is fancastic. It has bunny ears... picks up 3 channels and is mono-tone... You have certainly never experienced "Tombstone" or "Saving Private Ryan" in any other way! [/ QUOTE ] Hmmmm. whats wrong with the quality of the programs...I agree to the fact High Def. at this time isn't worth the money, but the new TV's are awsome in picture quality with digital sat. and there's a super wide varitey of programing with the dish...
