Wimpy
I shot a doe last evening that appeared to be a good hit as she cow kicked big time and my arrow went all the way through and was coated in blood. To give her some time I came back to my house to get my knife and change my clothes (I hunt where I live). My wife, daughter and I go back after about an hour to pick up the blood trail. For about 30 yards it was a great trail and where she stopped was a decent amount of blood, but when she took off there was nothing.I knew the direction she was heading so we did some circles and when we got to the top of the hill I heard something take off. We looked where the noise came from and she had been bedded down there. (Now knowing this if I didn't think it was a good hit I would have waited til morning to start looking.) We backed out and decided to wait until this morning to go look for her. My daughter and I head out to look for her this morning, and about 75 yards from where we stopped last night, we find her and the yotes had already done a number on her. But I owe a big thank you to my 8 year old daughter as she was finding blood with a flashlight last night that my wife and I had overlooked, and this morning she was finding little pin drops of blood by herself. I am so proud of her as, I know the first person I will get from now on to help me look for deer!
