Muff
I was watching a show about D day this morning when my little girls came in the room and asked what I was watching....I started to tell them about it and try to explain that today was rememberance day and what it was all about...then I asked them if they would like to go down to our town hall at 11 to hear and see the service that we have...they said yes...I was very happy to take them and I think they have a better understanding now of what rememberance day is all about. OJR
Veterans Day Ceremony My wife and I went to a ceremony at the Elks lodge here in town. Real nice but the only thing is there are fewer people attending every year! The younger people just don't care and that is so sad! Their parents are dropping the ball as far as I am concerned! stevebeilgard
it's worse than just the parents, orlan. schools no longer teach history. these kids just don't know, meaning that they don't care.

Guess it all depends on where you are. Veterans day is still a bit of a deal around here. The schools get the kids involved, they wear red white and blue, my 6 year old had to make a poster, and they had veterans invited to come into the schools and spend time in the classes with kids.
