nativetexan
Now granted, I don't know the whole story behind this article as this dog could have been a nuisance animal or aggressive or whatever. I think at some point in time a lot of us have been faced with wild domestic animals on our properties, and have had to take nescessary action, but still. Something about this doesn't really sit right with me. Especially since all of the "humane" groups associate arrows with hunters strictly. Just more fodder for them to throw at us. Or am I overreacting? What say you? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,310817,00.html
Guest Andrea
Coulda been some stupid kid. Who knows? I think if you wanna get rid of a nuisance dog then you use a rifle.

stevebeilgard
anti's always associate any bad act like that with a hunter. question to ask are "did the archer have a dog hunting license". no. "was there a hunting season on for dogs". no. "was the archer trained on how to properly shoot a dog". no. fact is, the media likes to portray all evil deeds like this as being from a hunter. yes, andrea, it probably was a kid. but that doesn't matter. whoever did it
stevebeilgard
(pushed the wrong button again.) whoever did it WAS NOT a hunter. he was a person with a bow who did a stupid thing. maybe he hunted legally also, but he did a criminal act. we all need to protest to the "hunter" theory, and i hereby do. please forward this email to the appropriate paper or t.v. person. wtnhunt
Who knows the story, sure it could have been a kid. Not enough information there for me to really know what to think. Was the dog maybe chasing a deer, does that change anything for anyone? I would shoot at a yote, whatever shot I can get, be it a head shot with my bow if that is all I could get I dont know for 100 percent certain whether I would take it or not, guess it would depend on how confident I was at that point in time that it would kill it. I want the yotes gone, may be that I would take a shot I would not normally take. May not seem humane, but we have a real issue with them and they are open year round here. Dogs, not legal to shoot here which is an entirely different topic. There have been a few I have seen around that if I was bowhunting and it was legal here to take them out I probably would, however I would likely be a little more picky with my shot placement on a dog than I would a yote.
