I've passed up deer for a few years now waiting for a better opportunities but I caved this season, here in NY. This past Saturday I shot a red fox, at 19 yards, for my first bow kill. That same day I couldn't pull a 120" buck from a doe for an opportunity at him. Sunday came around and it was my last opportunity I'd have at a deer this season and I ended up taking a big old doe that was fawnless this season. She offered a perfect broadsided shot at 23 yards. I regret to inform you all that I forgot my camera, however this weekend for the gun opener in NY I'll have it ready. I hope everyone had a great early bow season. I passed some young bucks up. My new job has me tied down without vacation time at the moment. However, I'll be back hunting a couple nice bucks on two different farms again starting Thanksgiving morning. Maybe I'll have some luck over this long weekend.
