I went to my annual hunting trip in michigan all last week. This was the first time i was able to go in a couple years so i was excited. I got up there on sunday night and put out some carrots (it is legal to bait in michigan) Mid day monday. I hunted it that night and seen nothing. I did not hunt tuesday morning. Tuesday Night when I went back out they had already found the carrots. As I just finished putting the top part of my climber on the tree i hear something and turn around. A button buck was running full speed right at me. He finally saw me and came to a quick stop about 5 yards away. I thought i was gonna get ran over.:) After about a 3 minute stare down he turned and jogged off. At about 4:30 I was standing up with my hands in my pocket and my bow hanging up. I did not see the deer untill they were on the carrots about 20 yards away. There was 2 does and 1 fawn. :DSo i had to take my hands out and get my bow down. When i turned the stand made a sound and i had 2 sets of eyes starring at me. They go back to eating and I start to pull back on one of the does. As i get half way pulled back my arrow rest makes a sound and i get starred at again. One of the does was quartering away so i put the pin a little far back and let the arrow fly. I seen it hit and she ran 40 yards and dropped. I entered just behind the ribs and exited right behind the opposite shoulder. Took one lung completly out. About five minutes after i shot the other 2 deer came back in and ate some more. I thought about shooting the other doe but just grabbed my camera and took a couple pics. :D Wow, what a long story. :p
