Tony Posted November 28, 2007 Report Share Posted November 28, 2007 i got a new job offer from a company in Des Moines called ALCAN. they are a world wide manufacturer of plastics and aluminum products. looks like i will be starting there on dec 17th. it is a Union shop and i will be in a 45 day probation period, but the pay is awesome and benifits are top notch. along with a 401K and a pension plan im pretty happy. starting pay there is $23.35 per hour.:eek: which also means im on the move again. im planning to move to Indianola Iowa which is about 20 miles from Des Moines. this will allow me to get to work easily and also be close to places for me to shoot at a Indoor archery shop. i also have a few friends that live there, so it will be nice to be close to the gang. hopefully i will be all moved in by dec 17th. guess when you do positive things and have a good outlook on life good things happen to you. if any of you are working in at a place and feel your good at your job, but dont feel your getting paid enough, explore the world out there, you never know what might happen. The recently retired Chief of Police, who is now the Chief Deputy at the Polk County is my old Little League coach and friend. Pretty good town. Indianola is a nice spot as I recall. Used to go to a little nursery out there to get our tomato plants and stuff. Those were some good old days, 12 years old and had the world by the tail...
