coles Posted November 29, 2007 Report Share Posted November 29, 2007 well guys, this year has turned out to be another really successful one.My girlfriend summer and i hunted hard for this a buck all season. She got this one a couple weeks ago. She didnt make the best shot but he went down right in his tracks and was dead before he hit the ground. As you can see in the pics she hit him right in the throat. He was a fighter too. He had 4 of his 10 points broke off! He was also the biggest bodied deer i have ever seen. I couldnt get him in the truck by myself. He brother also shot a buck the same day and was way smaller. He and his dad just grabbed him by the horns and legs and threw him in the truck. RUTNSTRUT Posted November 29, 2007 Report Share Posted November 29, 2007 Congrats to your girlfriend,that buck is a pig body wise the rack is nothing to be ashamed of either. It's not always the buck with the largest rack that is the dominant buck in a area. I have seen bigger bodied more aggressive bucks with medium size antlers back down bucks that had a lot bigger antlers on more than one occasion. So your girl friend might have taken out the dominant buck in your area,judgeing by his beat up rack and body size. Guest Tatonka Posted November 29, 2007 Report Share Posted November 29, 2007 I've been on top of those mountains in the background.... We used to hunt Ear Mountain a lot when I lived in Dutton. I don't see Ear Mountain in the background.....I think it's just south of the mountains shown in the pictures. I killed a nice whitetail buck with my bow in your area back in 1979....nice 5X5.
