leatherneck
I have been wanting to get a German Shorthair Pointer for a long time, but just dont have the money to get one. And for that reason the wife has not been too concerned about it. But guess what I found in the paper today??? FREE:eek: 5 month old AKC GSP's dew claws removed, tails docked, and vet checked. I called the wife right away and told her about them. She was not too excited to say the least:( But.... she did say I could call and find out about them. The guy has 3 left, but they are about 80 miles from here. I guess not having to pay what they usually run (about 300+) the milage would not be too bad. Now I just have to talk the boss into it:o:eek:
Guest AllArmyoutdoorsSD
Free?? Maybe getting more than you bargain for there. usualy a reason for giving a 5 mo old away. But good luck!
wtnhunt
Good luck talking your wife into it.
Tominator
OK, where's the problem in all of that? Go for it. I hunted over GSP's while growing up. Penny might be the best dog I've ever hunted over. Great dogs.
Guest Andrea
Would wonder why they're free. Especially at Christmas time. But might be worth it just to go look at them anyway.
Dubie
I use to sell Rottwielers. Usualy when I'd give them away for free, it was because the rest of the litter was already spoken for, and there hase been zero interest in the last one, and I wouldn't deal with those pet shops. I like to meet the folks getting my dogs in person. With the exception of one blind dog, but we were up-front about the problem, and the people who took it had experience dealing with blind dogs. Southerngirl
I do go give it a look and see why they are free. but if you bring one home, nobody with a heart can say no to a cute puppy

Once she see it there is no way she would make me get rid of it. She is just as soft as I am when it comes to puppies:D
buckee
Can you ship one up here too :D (jk) That sounds sweet. I couldn't care less if it's a show quality dog, as long as it can hunt pheasants :D
Southerngirl
problem solved! now I just hope they are good happy puppies in good health. If anyone finds a free short hair saint let me know, that's my dream dog so to speak
leatherneck
Well, I just talked with the guy and he said that the only reason that they are free is because all the others sold and these did not, so he is just tring to get rid of them:D

Tominator
yeah, but sometime the best things in life are free........... Ditto. That dog I mentioned before, Penny, she was free. Our other GSP had just died and about 2 weeks later my uncle found a pup on his doorstep. Turns out it was a pure bred GSP. She was so cheap my uncle named her Penny. True story. leatherneck
Well, she held her ground:( Darn hard headed country girls:D But she did make a deal with me. We are moving out of this rental house this coming August and buying a place on the South Dakota side of the river. Once we get out there, she will let me get a female, and I will be able to breed her. So I guess I can suck it up for now and wait. But dang I sure wanted one of those pups:(
Guest Andrea
Well Ryan, you messed that one up. What you should have done was not mention it at all. Went and picked it up, wrapped it in a box and gave it to her for Christmas.
