Tominator
Seems to always go like that. One day I saw a big buck in my field while I was on the phone with my friend. I was tagged out but he wasn't, so I told him to bring his bow and we'll put the stalk on. He got there, we stalked, but it appeared the deer had walked off. So I went to the end of my lot to see where the deer jumped over the fence. I looked down the fence row and I saw 2 rooster pheasants running into my field. I told my buddy, we hustled back, got the shotguns, tossed the dog over the fence and went after the birds. We went all the way to the end of the field and didn't find the birds, so on the way back, guess what we bumped out of his bed? Right, the deer. He sat there and looked at us for a minute, then ran away. Meanwhile the dog found the birds, and was running them the opposite way, he finally set them, and they flushed probably 60 yards away. Deer, pheasant 1, hunters 0. What's worse, our wives watched the whole debacle from the dining room.
arrow32
Thats the way it goes tho eh? I always see a good bit of deer while small game hunting no matter what I'm hunting for. Thats why I wait till season is over to really get going in it and then I don't worry about it so much.
