I feel your pain! lol. I think it took around 10 months to get my buck back in 2006. So IMO, that's really fast turn around time if you're supposed to get it back in March!

I have a fox squirrel at the taxidermist right now. Killed it back in October and not supposed to get it back until the end of March or April. Also, my dads big 8 point he killed Nov. '07 is at the same place.... and he was told around 10 months as well. Don't rush them that's for sure! Let them do ya a good job on it. :D

Mine has been in the shop about three months now. They told me it would be eight months, but it could probably be done sooner, as I shot my buck on opening day and brought it in the next morning. I used these guys, and am impressed with thier work. They have a huge shop, and do some impressive work.

I would say as a rule of thumb, under six month turn around is pretty fast for a higher volume shop, and you have to wonder where they are cutting the corners. If its a hobby business and he doesn't deal with a huge number, your probably doing allright. Over two years is a little excessive if you ask me. A sign that someone is taking on more work then they can handle...

I took my 11 point in last January and had him back by June. It seemed pretty fast, but its the best moung people in the area have seen. I sure hated the wait! I should have had a pheasant to the taxidermist this year but did not have the freezer space for it to be stored for a little while.

I dropped a buck off at our taxidermist in late November and am not expecting to hear from him for at least another month or two, earliest. He already had quite a few from Oct and early Nov, so I'm back in the line.

But he does very good work (my family's used him for thirty years), so I'll gladly wait. :)

Definately know the feeling, my biggest buck went to the taxidermist last Jan and still is not ready. Taking it in late put it on the bottom of the list, I think he had 150 in front of mine.

Same here. I shot mine on the last day of the 07 archery season (Jan.17th). It's going to be October before I get it back. What's killing me is I haven't had the official P&Y score yet. It should be the biggest I've taken to date.

I called Jarvis Taxidermy (well know around my area) and he told me it would be 3 years before I got the head back!!!

I'll not be dialing that number again.
